| Ok, so I have done nothing productive for the past 2 1/2 hours because there is nothing to do. I am scoping out art supplies for this semester. But, that's about it. Dave started his new job today... he is there right now and I am dying to talk to him!
We went to San Marcos this weekend for my brother's graduation. We left Saturday afternoon. That's all I feel like saying about it.
School start in less than 2 weeks! Yah! I will be one busy but perfectly content girl. I start my advertising minor which hopefully won't be too difficult (if I made it through a political science one then surely I'll be ok...). I plan on going home and reading this afternoon. It's cloudy and rainy. Maybe even do some charcoal and painting... I really need to practice before I go back to school.
I am reading the Journey of Desire by John Eldredge (for the third time...hah). I love it. He talks about that feeling that we all get in life that we are missing out on something... something so precious to our lives.... DESIRE. I have just been thinking about that. How it's so easy to fall into a routine of life and completely miss the one thing that our hearts are always after. To just settle for the good job, nice family, serenity. It reminded me of the sermon Patrick gave last sunday... he said something like... life isn't always going up... there has to be a down. And Eldredge talks about how our "journey of desire" may not always be a smooth ride. There will be times that hurt, confuse, and anger us. But, it is in those moments that we find our heart's true desire and our ultimate reliance on God. Wow... that's so awesome to me. Does that make sense? I sure hope it does... if not, read the book.
Life has been one big lesson for the past year and I am still learning. I'm learning to deal with things that I never wanted to face. But, that has brought so much peace. Peace that I have been longing for since who knows when.

| Ok, so we have a cricket invasion here at work. I just vacuumed them all up.
So whats new?... Went ot Midland this past weekend which was nice. It's always good to see people you haven't seen in awhile. I really miss Stonegate. Everytime I go back I get teary eyed during church. It's just that feeling of home that honestly is hard to find in Dallas. If you know any good Dallas churches let me know. Dave and I have been all over.
This week has gone by so fast. Dave is off work so he has been a bum. I've been working and have actually been busy. We ate dinner with Deborah last night and maybe Sandy and Tammy tonight. We are planning a trip to Ikea soon as well. That's exciting. This weekend it's off to San Marcos for my brother's graduation. Yah for him.
Well that's about it... I have training for another program in 15 min. Better get ready! Blah! | | |
